What is Restreamer
Restreamer is a powerful software that allows you to stream videos in real-time for free. Whether you're using a webcam or any other video input, Restreamer enables you to broadcast live streams directly to your website. Essentially, it allows you to become your own streaming provider.
Why is Restreamer Useful for Streamers?
Many streamers need to broadcast to multiple platforms simultaneously. However, streaming to various platforms can be bandwidth-intensive. For example, streaming to five platforms might require up to 20 Mb/s of bandwidth. If your internet connection can't handle that, it could result in poor streaming quality or interruption
The Solution: RapidSeedbox + Restreamer
By using RapidSeedbox with Restreamer, you can significantly reduce the bandwidth required on your end. Instead of streaming to each platform individually, you only need to stream once to RapidSeedbox, which will then handle the restreaming to all other platforms.
Without Restreamer
When streaming to multiple platforms, bandwidth can quickly become a limiting factor. For instance, streaming to just five platforms could require around 20 Mb/s of bandwidth. As you can see, this demands a fast and reliable internet connection. But what if your connection isn't strong enough to handle this load?
With Rapidseedbox + Restreamer
This is where Restreamer comes into play. By using Rapidseedbox + Restreamer, you only need a modest bandwidth of around 4 Mb/s. Instead of streaming directly to each platform, you stream once to Restreamer. The service then takes care of distributing your stream to all five platforms simultaneously. This means you can effectively reach a wider audience without needing an exceptionally fast internet connection, making streaming accessible even with limited bandwidth.
Platform Support
Restreamer currently supports 28+ platforms, making it a versatile and effective solution for streamers looking to expand their audience without sacrificing bandwidth or stream quality.

Setting up Restreamer
After connecting to Restreamer, the first step is to create a user account. You can register by specifying a username and password of your choice.
Once logged in, you will be greeted by a welcome window. Click on the "Video Setup" button to proceed.
In the next stage, select the "RTMP Server" option.
Click "Enable RTMP Server."
Leave the "RTMP Port" field set to 1935, and in the "Application" field, enter a server name of your choice (for example, rsb). Click "Save."
Next, restart the service by clicking the "Restart" button.
After rebooting, return to the beginning, selecting "Video Settings" and then "RTMP Server" again. This time, a window will open displaying a link where your video capture software from your PC can send a stream to the VDS server. Make sure to copy this link
Setting up the broadcast
Now it’s time to configure your video capture program. In this example, we will use OBS (Open Broadcaster Software).
Launch OBS and go to the "Settings" menu.
In the settings menu, navigate to the "Broadcast" tab. Here, you will need the previously copied link.
In the "Service" field, select "Configurable".
In the "Server" field, insert the portion of the copied link that includes the server name specified during the RTMP server configuration.
In the "Stream Key" field, insert the rest of the link. Click the "OK" button to save your settings.
Finally, click the "Start Streaming" button to initiate the broadcast.
Starting the broadcast
At this stage, you have successfully launched the broadcast via OBS, but it's currently only being sent to your Restreamer server. Now, you need to set up the retransmission to popular streaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube.
Go back to your browser and open the tab with the video settings from which you copied the link. Click "Next."
Follow the on-screen prompts to configure various parameters, such as resolution, sound settings, metadata settings, and copyright options. After making your selections, click "Save."
Once saved, a window will display information about your stream, including how it will appear on other sites. If needed, you can make additional adjustments.
To start streaming on YouTube, go to the "Publications" section in the upper right corner and click on the "+" button.
In the window that opens, select YouTube as the platform for your broadcast.
In the "General" tab, specify the display name for your publication, choose "RTMP" for the delivery mode, and enter the Stream Key. You can obtain this key from the settings of your streaming platform. Click the "GET" button to be redirected to the page where you can copy the key.
For YouTube, the key can be found on the "Studio" page.
Paste this key into the "Stream Key" field and click "Save." Now, your selected platform will be displayed in the "Publications" section, allowing you to start relaying your stream.
Congratulations! You have successfully launched your relay! You're the best!
