What VPN Protocols Are Available and Enabled by Default on RapidSeedbox Seedboxes?

If you are setting up a seedbox on RapidSeedbox, here's what you need to know about the VPN protocols available:

Default VPN Protocol on RapidSeedbox

RapidSeedbox seedboxes come with OpenVPN as the default VPN protocol. OpenVPN is pre-configured, providing a secure and reliable connection between your Seedbox and your local PC. Unlike traditional VPN services that let you choose servers across different countries and cities, this OpenVPN setup is designed exclusively as a private link between you and your Seedbox. It’s the only connection method used to establish secure access, without requiring any additional setup from users.

Optional VPN Configuration: WireGuard

While OpenVPN is the default VPN protocol, you have the option to install WireGuard if you require it. However, making this change will require administrative permissions (i.e., root access) on your seedbox. WireGuard is not installed or enabled by default but can be manually configured following detailed instructions in the documentation.

Clarification on Wireshark

Wireshark is not a VPN protocol. Instead, it is a network analysis tool used for inspecting and troubleshooting network traffic. While it may be useful for advanced network configurations, it is unrelated to VPN functionality.

Summary

  • OpenVPN: Default, pre-configured, and serves as the sole secure connection between your Seedbox and local PC.

  • WireGuard: Optional and requires manual installation with administrative permissions.

  • Wireshark: A network tool, not a VPN protocol.

For advanced setup instructions, consult the official RapidSeedbox documentation.
