In this tutorial, you will learn how to access the Seedbox Remote Desktop from any device with a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) using ThinLinc.
ThinLinc is preinstalled and enabled on almost every box to date, so you don’t have to install and configure it, and if it is not installed, you can do it via our One Click Installers or ask our Customer Support to help you with the installation.
Logging Into ThinLinc
After you put the link into the web-browser you will (probably) have an SSL/certificate warning, it is safe to ignore and skip and proceed to the login screen:
Put your credentials in and proceed, you will see a welcome screen if you logging in for the first time, just press OK there:
The system will perform final tweaks and show you your box’s desktop:
ThinLinc Navigation Menu
Note that dark-blue rectangle with an arrow in the mid-left part of the desktop – this is the ThinLinc menu:
It has 3 buttons:
Extra Keys (with the letter A on it) - allow you to press some keys that might be absent on your current device – phones/tablets mainly:
Clipboard (with an icon of a paper) - Helpful to paste any text from your device to the box’s desktop – this is a limitation of this RDP software – it basically shows you just a picture:
You can’t send a text to it directly, so you must put it into the clipboard text field first, and then, when you press Ctrl+v or similar keyboard combo in remote desktop, text from the clipboard will be pasted into an active window:
Disconnect - this button is pretty straight forward and helps you disconnect from your remote desktop.
That’s pretty much it. We hope you enjoy all the functionalities your Seedbox remote desktop can provide, it's here to serve you and it has plenty of functionality that you can explore and unlock to create more value from your Seedbox 🎉
I don't know what to do next...
