Let's get started!

ThinLinc (recommended)

ThinLinc is a browser client allowing you to access a remote desktop connection to your seedbox directly from inside a browser tab!

Desktop Apps

Download the Microsoft Windows App from the Microsoft Store here

Use the following URL to find your preferred Linux installation method, LINK

Important

Make sure to use port 2222 when logging in and use the IP of your seedbox as your host!

URL Access

Access to the ThinLinc browser is easy using the secure URL directly from your My Services area.

Signing In

Using the credentials provided to you on your My Services page, log into your ThinLinc session:

Selecting your desktop

You do not need to install a desktop environment to start with ThinLinc, as Xfce Desktop is preinstalled.

If you decided to install a different desktop environment, select your preference from the next menu screen:

Welcome home! 🏡

After successfully logging in, you will be greeted with your seedbox desktop environment!

(KDE Desktop)

A Few Options 👍

Thin Linc browser has a unique copy & paste method. To use your clipboard between your local device and seedbox, select the toggle menu on the left side of your screen and click on the clipboard:

X2Go 🚀

X2Go is simple to use and also fit low bandwidth conditions.

Download X2GO client

Download and Install X2GO Client on your local machine:
X2Go Client for Windows
X2Go Client for Mac OSx

Configure a new session

Open the X2Go client and locate the login credentials you received when you ordered a seedbox.

The Remote Seedbox Desktop login credentials contain the following information:

  • Host (Your Seedbox IP Address)

  • Login (user)

  • Password (Your Password)

  • SSH port: If you are an older user or using older templates, use port (22); if you are a new user, you are probably using our new template, so you need to use port (2222).

  • Session Type (XFCE)

Click on Session > New Session to create a new session.

Submit your login details (password will be required later).

Note: While configuring your new session, click on Input/Output tab and under “Display” choose a custom size of Width=1600 and Height=900, this is our favorite resolution which works very well.

Starting created session

Once you clicked on New session, log in using your Username and Password. (picture below)

If you see a “Host key verification failed.” popup box that says: The server is unknown. Do you trust the host key? Please click on Yes to trust this connection.

Tip: If you want to change your X2go password, log in via SSH console and issue:

passwd user

You will be prompted twice to enter the same password.

After this is done, remove the previous session from X2go client, and try connecting.
Mac users might need to remove their ssh_hosts entry via:

ssh-keygen -R SEEDBOX_IP:2222

Start using the remote Seedbox desktop

A successful login will result in a log session that shows the progress of the connection process.

If your login details are correct, you will be able to use the graphical user interface of your Seedbox.

We hope you enjoy it!
