How to use the Web File Browser on Lean Seedbox (Filestash)

Manage your files in your seedbox using only your browser.

Introduction

Your seedbox comes with a built-in file browser that allows you to download, upload and edit files on your Seedbox.

How to access

Click the Web File Browser link on the Credentials page of your Seedbox

Basic

Downloading files

You can download any number of files and folders.

To download, select the file(s) you need and click Download

You can also select multiple folders

Uploading files

You can upload files using the Upload button in the bottom right corner.

Then, you can select file(s) to be uploaded.

The files you’ve selected will be uploaded to the folder from which you have clicked the Upload button

Managing files

Some file operations buttons are hidden and only show up after a file or more are selected.

You can:

  • Rename

  • Delete

  • Move

Rename

Select the file you wish to rename and click Rename

Delete

Select the files or folders you wish to remove and click Remove. This is irreversible, so you will be asked to confirm this action.

Move

To move a file simply drag and drop it to the folder of your choice. Don’t select the file with a checkbox.

If you want to drag and drop a file into a parent folder, use the path at the top of the page to drop the file to.

Sharing Files and Folders

Filestash allows you to share any file or folder with others using a secure share link. You can also control what level of access the recipient has.

How to Share a File or Folder

  1. Select the file or folder you want to share.

  2. Click the Share button.

  3. A sharing panel will appear with different permission options.

Permission Levels

Filestash supports three types of permissions when sharing content:

Read‑Only

  • The recipient can view and download files.

  • They cannot upload, edit, or delete anything.

Read‑only permission selected

*Advanced options:

  • Only for users — Restricts access to logged‑in users only.

  • Password — Adds a password requirement before opening the link.

  • Expiration — Automatically disables the link after a chosen date/time.

  • Custom Link URL — Lets you define your own custom link name instead of the default one.

Write

  • The recipient can view, download, upload, edit, and delete files.

  • Use this only with people you fully trust.

Write permission selected

Upload Only

  • The recipient can upload files into the shared folder.

  • They cannot view, download, or delete existing files.

  • Ideal for collecting files from others.

Upload‑only permission selected

The uploader feature is available only for shared folders, not for individual files.

The uploader cannot view uploaded files in shared folders. Just the owner of the shared folder can view them.
