Plex updates are frequent and it is advisable to keep using the latest version so you can benefit from its latest features and security fixes.

Follow the following steps to upgrade your Plex installation.

Step 1

Login into your Seedbox from the root ssh session. If you're not sure how to login using SSH, please follow this guide:

Once you're logged in, there are a few commands that you need to run.

Note: commands in Step 1 needs to be entered only once, and they're available only for Debian and Ubuntu distributions.

First command:
wget -q -O - |  apt-key add -

Second command:
echo "deb public main" > "/etc/apt/sources.list.d/plexmediaserver.list"

Step 2

 After keys and source list has been updated, we need to update our package manager.

apt-get update
apt-get install plexmediaserver -y

And you're done.

After each update, you can simply log in via SSH and type:

apt-get update && apt-get install plexmediaserver  -y
