In your Seedbox, you have two user accounts: root and user.  As you know, the root account is the most privileged account on Unix systems and it is used to administer the system, while your user account is used to manage all Seedbox services, like torrent clients, FTP, Open VPN etc.

In the case of system reinstallation, your passwords need to be updated as well, because the system is losing a track of stored information regarding user passwords.

Your root account password information stays untouched, which we can use to update rest of the passwords.

How to reset Root password?

In the case that your root password is not working, you can simply reset it from Control Panel.

Start by logging into your Seedbox Control Panel.

Once logged in to Control Panel, scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Root/Admin Password" tab.

Click on Root/Admin Password while managing your Seedbox via the Control Panel, type your new password and click on Change to apply.
